The plating process

What type of metal can be plated?
Our goldsmith can add a fresh layer of yellow, rose, or white gold to any sterling silver or solid gold jewelry. Please note that we cannot plate pieces made of brass, bronze, or mixed metals.

I don’t know what my jewelry is made of, how can I find out?

Most precious gold and silver jewelry will have a stamp or hallmark, aiding in identification. Our guide [here](#) can assist you further.

Do you plate watches?
We specialize in plating jewelry only and do not offer watch plating services.

My jewelry contains stones. Can I still have this plated?
While most stones, including diamonds and emeralds, can be plated, certain gemstones like opals, lapis, malachite, moonstones, labradorite, and coral may become damaged or discolored through the plating process.

Can I plate silver jewelry?
Certainly! We can plate any sterling silver jewelry, regardless of whether it has been previously plated with gold or not.

How is the jewelry plated?
Our goldsmith utilizes a gold plating process known as electroplating. This technique involves depositing a thin layer of metal onto the object's surface using electrolysis. The jewelry is submerged in a gold solution during this process, resulting in a fresh layer of gold on the piece's surface.
